Course Description
This course offers a comprehensive overview of major advances in internal medicine and subspecialties. Designed for internists, family practitioners and other clinicians, topics will emphasize the application of recent advances in clinical practice. The format includes concise cutting-edge presentations and case analyses with nationally recognized faculty; the informal atmosphere facilitates participation.

Educational Objectives

  1. Apply evidence-based algorithms to accurately diagnose common outpatient infections that wil benefit significantly from antibiotic therapy
  2. Select appropriate antihypertensive therapy to bring blood pressure to goal in patients who have resistant hypertension
  3. . Optimize pharmacologic therapy for patients with heart failure in the outpatient setting
  4. Initiate and modify insulin therapy in the primary care setting to optimize hemoglobin A1c concentrations
  5. . Implement the new National Asthma Education Program guidelines for primary care patients with asthma to optimize function and reduce morbidity mortality
