Course Description
This course offers a comprehensive overview of major advances in internal medicine and subspecialties. Designed for internists, family practitioners and other clinicians, topics will emphasize the application of recent advances in clinical practice. 1. Apply evidence-based algorithms to accurately diagnose common outpatient infections that wil benefit significantly from antibiotic therapy
2. Select appropriate antihypertensive therapy to bring blood pressure to goal in patients who have resistant hypertension
3. . Optimize pharmacologic therapy for patients with heart failure in the outpatient setting
4. Initiate and modify insulin therapy in the primary care setting to optimize hemoglobin A1c concentrations
